Day 1 – Arrival in Cairo

Your private representative will greet you upon arrival in Cairo with VIP assistance through immigration and customs. A private transfer escorts you to the elegant Sofitel Cairo El Gezerah, set on its own Nile Island with sweeping river views. The evening is yours at leisure to relax after your journey.

Day 2 – The Pyramids & The Grand Egyptian Museum

After breakfast, your private Egyptologist leads you to the Giza Plateau, home to the last surviving wonder of the ancient world. Stand before the mighty Great Pyramid of Cheops, explore the Pyramid of Khafre and Pyramid of Menkaure, and gaze upon the enigmatic Sphinx, carved from a single block of limestone over 4,500 years ago. Continue to the much-anticipated Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), where treasures from across Egypt’s dynastic past await, including the golden treasures of Tutankhamun, displayed together for the first time. Return to your hotel for an evening of relaxation.

Day 3 – Islamic & Coptic Cairo

Today you explore Cairo’s spiritual heritage. Begin at the Citadel of Saladin, with its commanding views over the city, and step into the exquisite Mosque of Mohamed Ali, built in the Ottoman style with its gleaming alabaster domes. Wander through Islamic Cairo, where bustling bazaars and centuries-old mosques line narrow streets. Then visit Coptic Cairo, where early Christians worshipped in sanctuaries like the Hanging Church, the Church of Abu Serga (believed to be built above the cave where the Holy Family rested), and the Ben Ezra Synagogue, a landmark of Jewish heritage in Egypt. Return to your hotel in the evening.

Day 4 – Luxor & The East Bank

Morning flight to Luxor, where you board your luxury Nile cruise, the Amwaj Living Stone (or similar). After lunch, explore the East Bank of Luxor. Walk the vast courtyards and Hypostyle Hall of the Karnak Temple Complex, dedicated to Amun-Ra, Mut, and Khonsu, one of the most impressive sacred sites in the world. Continue to the Luxor Temple, beautifully illuminated at night, once linked to Karnak by the grand Avenue of Sphinxes. Return to your cruise for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 – The West Bank of Luxor & Sail to Edfu

Cross the Nile to the West Bank, the ancient city of the dead. Enter the Valley of the Kings, where pharaohs including Ramses the Great and Tutankhamun were laid to rest in ornately decorated tombs. Visit the magnificent Temple of Hatshepsut, a terraced masterpiece honoring Egypt’s most powerful female ruler. Pause by the towering Colossi of Memnon, guardians of Amenhotep III’s mortuary temple. Return to your cruise as it begins sailing south toward Edfu.

Day 6 – Edfu & Kom Ombo Temples

This morning, visit the remarkably preserved Temple of Horus at Edfu, one of Egypt’s most complete temples, dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus. Sail onward to Kom Ombo, where the unusual double temple honors both Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus the Elder, the falcon god. Explore its reliefs, chapels, and the adjoining Crocodile Museum. Your cruise continues sailing to Aswan.

Day 7 – Aswan: High Dam & Philae Temple

In Aswan, marvel at the 20th-century High Dam, a symbol of modern Egypt’s engineering triumphs. Take a boat ride to the enchanting Temple of Philae, dedicated to Isis, the goddess of love and magic. The temple complex was carefully relocated to Agilkia Island after the construction of the dam to save it from flooding. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure to relax and enjoy the Nile.

Day 8 – Return to Cairo & Optional Abu Simbel

Disembark in the morning and transfer to Aswan Airport for your flight back to Cairo. For those who wish, an optional excursion can be arranged to the Abu Simbel Temples, carved into the mountainside by Ramses II, one of the most awe-inspiring monuments of ancient Egypt. Connect in Cairo with your international departure flight.
