DAY 4,

Day Excursion to Jungfraujoch

For over a century, the Jungfrau Railway has brought visitors to the highest railway station in Europe, perched at 3,454 meters above sea level. Now part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch, this historic cogwheel train departs from Kleine Scheidegg and operates year-round, traveling through a seven-kilometer tunnel carved into the mountain between 1896 and 1912.

Along the way, two viewing stops offer breathtaking glimpses of the Eiger’s legendary North Face and the surrounding glaciers. At the summit, visitors enter a magical world of snow, ice, and rock. Take in panoramic views from the Sphinx Terrace, stroll across the Aletsch Glacier, or explore the enchanting Ice Palace.

Since December 2020, the Eiger Express—the world’s most advanced tri-cable gondola—has offered a faster and more scenic route. Departing from Grindelwald Terminal, it reaches the Eiger Glacier station in just 15 minutes, reducing total travel time from Interlaken to Jungfraujoch to only 1.5 hours.

For hiking enthusiasts, the Eiger Trail brings you face-to-face with the iconic North Face of the Eiger. This two-hour hike leads across steep alpine meadows and rocky slopes, offering dramatic views right beneath the towering wall of one of the Alps’ most legendary peaks.

Cheese Fondue in a Vintage Gondola

Enjoy a delicious classic Swiss cheese fondue, served outdoors in the former Männlichen gondolas at the Hotel Belvedere Grindelwald.
Comfortably refurbished, each gondola accommodates two guests, offering the perfect setting for a magical tête-à-tête.

Free Time in Lauterbrunnen

In the morning, feel free to explore the charming village of Lauterbrunnen. It’s just a 35-minute ride away.
Nestled in a stunning valley surrounded by dramatic cliffs and waterfalls, Lauterbrunnen is often called the “Valley of 72 Waterfalls.” This picturesque Swiss village offers breathtaking scenery, cozy cafés, and easy access to hiking trails and mountain excursions. A perfect spot to soak in nature’s beauty and relax.

Private Kayak Tour on Lake Brienz

Glide across the mesmerizing turquoise waters of Lake Brienz by kayak, surrounded by a breathtaking panorama of alpine peaks.

Enjoy a scenic and comfortable ride aboard the Luzern–Interlaken Express, connecting the picturesque town of Interlaken with the vibrant city of Lucerne.

Experience an unforgettable journey of nearly two hours, offering stunning views of five crystal-clear mountain lakes fed by rivers and waterfalls. As you travel, admire the dramatic rocky cliffs rising along the lakeshores like a natural protective barrier, perfect for memorable photos.

Just before ascending to the Brünig Pass, the train engages cogwheel traction to conquer the steep climb, adding a unique touch to this panoramic experience.

From Lucerne train station, you can take the MS Bürgenstock catamaran to the Bürgenstock Funicular, which will take you up to your hotel in Lucerne.

DAY 7,

  • Day excursion to Mount Pilatus
    Mount Pilatus towers majestically over Lucerne, a destination of wild natural beauty, legendary tales, and impressive engineering. Experience breathtaking views, the world’s steepest cogwheel railway, and the magic of a mountain that has captivated visitors for over a century.First, take the Bürgenstock Funicular and the MS Bürgenstock catamaran to reach the pier in Lucerne.
    From there, continue with a bus ride to Kriens, followed by a scenic gondola journey to Fräkmüntegg, where your Mount Pilatus adventure begins.Enjoy panoramic views as the gondolas carry you from Kriens, via Krienseregg, to Fräkmüntegg in approximately 30 minutes.
    Then, board the aerial cableway “Dragon Ride” to Pilatus Kulm. With its cockpit-style cabins, floor-to-ceiling windows, and spacious design, the Dragon Ride creates a sensation of flying over the alpine landscape.At Pilatus Kulm, a variety of leisure activities and breathtaking scenery await. Explore one of the area’s most charming hiking options: The Flower Trail, a natural gem leading from Pilatus Kulm to Tomlishorn. This trail offers the chance to discover a stunning variety of alpine flowers in their natural habitat, from creamy white alpine anemones to vibrant gentians.

    After your hike, you can enjoy a meal at Restaurant Pilatus-Kulm. Since 1890, this historic establishment has impressed guests with its warm atmosphere and panoramic views. Whether you choose one of the elegant dining rooms or the scenic sun terrace, it’s an experience not to miss.

    Descend the mountain aboard the world’s steepest cogwheel railway, traveling from Pilatus Kulm to Alpnachstad. The route winds past lush meadows and dramatic rock faces, an unforgettable alpine journey.

    Finally, return to Lucerne by train from Alpnachstad, then continue your journey back to the hotel via boat and the Bürgenstock Funicular.

    A 20-minute boat ride is all it takes to reach Gandria, a small fishing village clinging to the foot of the mountain, which still retains its medieval charm. Accompanied by your guide, you’ll discover the village’s rich history, once a center for olive oil production until a harsh winter in the late 1700s led locals to turn to the silk industry. Today, Gandria is a peaceful haven, popular with artists and travelers seeking authentic, low-intensity tourism.After enjoying lunch at a small lakeside restaurant, follow your guide back to Lugano along the “Olive Trail,” a scenic path that gently winds beside the lake through rugged and romantic terrain.
